11 MORE SAMPLES MEET THE STANDARD FOR MELAMINE CONTENT

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 (Bernama) -- The Health Ministry Friday announced that 11 more samples have been found to meet the ministry's standard for melamine content.

The ministry in a statement today said that the samples were taken from
Milk Soft Candy (Leisure Ecotype Candy), Hen-Hen's Crispy Crackers, Hong Da
Food's Traditional Griddle, My Bis's Lemon Cream Biscuit, Von's Cream Crackers
(chocolate flavoured), Bairong's Cheese Cracker (special flavoured), Mou Huat's
Oat Meal Coffee Cracker, Jian Hui's Jinlishi Biscuits, Ken-Ken's Chocolate Chip
Cookies, Kinshan Bridge's Fancy Biscuits and Von's Sandwich Cracker.

The statement also said that the permissible melamine content is 1mg/kg for
infant food and 2.5 mg/kg or 2.5 parts per million (ppm) for other food.

Legal action will be taken if the products were found containing a higher
level of melamine.
