Qatar Charity to Rehabilitate Facilities at Palestinian University
Doha, May 06 (QNA) - Qatar Charity (QC) will rehabilitate facilities at the Palestinian University of Al-Quds at a cost of QR4.5 million in a project to be funded by the Gulf Cooperation Council and the management of the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah.
The project will improve facilities at Al-Quds Open University in Rafah and Jabaliya, aiming to provide a suitable learning environment by improving infrastructure, as well as the quality of educational services provided at the university.
In Rafah, QC will build classrooms, an administrative area, a prayer room and student canteen, including electric fences and gates. At the Jabaliya site, QC will increase classrooms and provide a canteen, prayer room and elevators.
The improvements are expected to take around 12 months and QC will begin engineering plans and operational implementation over the coming weeks.
QC Palestine is currently running 13 projects helping those affected by the occupation, including the supply of medical equipment for university laboratories and the expansion and renovation of schools.
These projects are funded by the Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the GCC, plus private donors, and are valued at QR70 million. QC Palestine will also provide 30 tones of sacrificed meat to the poor over the next few weeks. (QNA)
