QTA Chairman Al Nuaimi Hails Qatar Successful ATM Participation

Dubai, May 03 (QNA) - Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) Chairman Ahmed Abdullah Al Nuaimi has hailed as "effective and successful" Qatar's participation in the Dubai-based Arabian Travel Market (ATM). He said that the event was an opportunity to meet with QTA counterparts in other countries in order to exchange views regarding tourism sector, look at the possibility of launching tourism initiatives and partnerships and benefit from the expertise and experiments of the different sides. He highlighted Qatar's features and touristic attractions that makes it a travel destination for tourists on Gulf and international levels alike. "We strive to provide all tourism options for visitors, so as to establish Qatar as a favorite travel hub . There is no doubt that the World Travel Awards that Qatar managed, especially the Middle East's Leading Business Travel Destination award, reflects the country's efforts to develop its tourism sector and provide the best services that help make the tourists' stay successful and enjoyable," Al Nuaimi said as the event closed on Thursday. He added that the wide participation of 2,400 entities from 87 countries in the 19th edition of the event shows its success in the previous years, as tourism sector witnessed notable growth, in addition to Dubai's government support of the event. Al Nuaimi thanked members of the Qatari delegation for their efforts during the forum and for the explanation, presentations, information and publications they provided, which will contribute in promoting Qatar as a travel destination. The participants who visited QTA's pavilion have praised Qatar's capacities as a travel destination, especially in the sectors of business, entertainment and conferences tourism. The Middle East's Leading Business Travel Destination award is a real indicator that Qatar has created a legacy on the tourism map in the Arab region and the Middle East, participants told Qatar News Agency (QNA). QTA was restructured in 2009, and was given the mandate to organize, enable, and supervise the tourism industry development and to organize exhibitions in Qatar, as well as represent and promote Qatar as a quality tourism destination for leisure, business, education, and sport. It's involved in organizing events and promotions which reflects on the general image of Qatar as an evolving tourism destination combining business with leisure. (QNA)
