SKALI LOOKS TO MORE REVENUE CONTRIBUTION FROM OVERSEAS
Padang (Indonesia), Oct 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's e-business specialist,
SKALI Group, is aiming to increase its overseas contribution to 30 percent of
revenue within the next three years.
Its president and co-founder, Aimi Aizal Nasharuddin said currently,
the international market represented only about 10 percent of revenue.
SKALI, he added,was now looking to increase its market presence in the
Middle East and Africa.
"We are gearing ourselves to seek new opportunities. Skali's
international order book has at present reached RM300 million (US$85.71
million) with ventures
in the Middle East, Mauritius, Brunei and also Indonesia," Aimi Aizal told
Bernama in Kota Sawahlunto,West Sumatra.
SKALI, on Thursday, signed a memorandum of understanding with the regional
government of Kota Sawahlunto to develop and enhance the information
communication and technology (ICT) blueprint for the city of Kota Sawahlunto, a
coal mining city.
Aimi Aizal noted that there was strong potential for IT services in
developing and under-developed countries.
He also said that SKALI's main international markets currently included
Indonesia,the Middle-East, Mauritius and Brunei.
He pointed out that international business initiatives were normally done
through partnerships with locals in the various countries.
"While we may be expanding overseas, we do not want to lose focus on
strengthening our presence in Malaysia. Our strategy is also to continue to be
innovative in service delivery.
"We have our own research and development team and also undertake business
consultancy," he said.
SKALI also provides e-business infrastructure assistance which includes
remote monitoring services, disaster recovery centre, online availability
management, hosting services and managed security services.
Its e-business solutions include enterprise information portals, knowledge
management, customer relationship management, e-commerce solutions and document
management.
Aimi Aizal emphasised that innovation was important for the ICT industry
even with the current economic downturn.
"Everyone is affected. We need to be flexible and innovative in our
business approach to move ahead," he stated.
