WINNERS OF 30 OIL, GAS BLOCK TENDERS KNOWN OCT 17
Bandung, Indonesia, Oct 10 (ANTARA)- The government will on October 17 announce the winners of tenders on 30 oil and gas blocks in the country and the blocks' locations, an Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry official said.
Of the 30 blocks, 16 were allocated through direct bids and 14 through regular tenders, Evita Legowo, the ministry's director general for oil and gas affairs, said here on Friday.
"We will announce the blocks' locations together with the tender winners on October 17," she said, adding the government would also make public the winners of three tenders on coal bed methane (CBM) blocks at the same time.
The contracts on development of the 30 oil and gas blocks would be signed in November in conjunction with a meeting of the Association of Indonesian Engine Technicians Alumni Association (IATMI), Legowo said.
The fact that the 30 oil and gas blocks had been tendered out was proof that Indonesia's oil and gas sector was still attractive to investors despite the global financial crisis, she added.
