N SUMATRA TO HOLD EXPO TO PROMOTE SUPERIOR PRODUCTS
Medan, Oct 10 (ANTARA) - North Sumatra province starting from October this year will held an expo anually to promote its superior products.
The expo will be joined by all Indonesia's provinces and also Malaysia and Thailand.
"The name of the expo is Invesda (Investasi Daerah--Region Investment). It will be organized by an organizing company," head of domestic trade sector North Sumatra Industry and Trade agency Margaretha Elly Silalahi said here Friday.
The first expo is scheduled to be held on October 27 to November 2, 2008.
"The expo is aimed to promote the various of North Sumatra superior products as well as other province's to increase the domestic market," she said.
If the domestic market's absorption is good enough, Silalahi said, there will be no dependence to the export market.
North Sumatra provincial administrative keeps on the increasing of export but at the same time does not want to fully depend on it, Silalahi added.
"For this early stage, there is no special budget. But if the expo goes well, the central government will allocate a budget for the expo," said Silalahi.
