RI COMPANIES TO PARTICIPATE IN XI`AN TRADE FAIR
Beijing, Oct 10 (ANTARA) - A number of Indonesian companies will take part in the "Fourth West China Cultural Product Fair" on October 11-14 in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, Central China, in an effort to make their products and services known to the Chinese public.
"At least five Indonesian companies, including Garuda Indonesia and Mustika Ratu, will participate in the Xi-an trade fair," Indonesian trade attache in Beijing, Imbang Listiyadi, said on Friday.
He said Indonesia's participation in the exhibition was considered important and strategic in an effort to introduce various potential products and services to the people of China in Shannxi province and its vicinity.
According to Imbang Listiyadi, the Indonesian companies' participation in the fair was part of the government's effort to diversity Indonesia's export market to Central and West China in addition to East and South China.
"Central and West China also have the same great economic potentials as East and South China," Imbang said, adding that the objective of Indonesia's participation in the fair was to convince the local community that Indonesia had great potentials to serve as as a partner in trade and tourism.
Imbang said the target of the Indonesian companies' participation in the Xi'an trade fair was to make trade transactions and disseminate information about Indonesia's economic potentials among the local people and businessmen.
"The fair is expected to be visited not only by local people and businessmen, but also by foreign businessmen operating in China," Imbang said.
He said Indonesia would continue to diversity its export market across China while its trade promotion efforts had yet to cover most of China's provinces.
Imbang said Indonesia had also participated in the "Urumqi Fair 2008 " in Urumqi, capital of the special autonomous region of Xinjiang last September 1-4, 2008.
He said, at the Urumqi fair, Xinjian businessmen had shown keen interest in entering into partnerships with Indonesian counterparts.
