5th round of Yemeni-Turkish committee to be held in Sana'a
SANA'A, Oct 09 (Saba) - The Turkish deputy prime minister Nazim
Ekren is to arrive in Yemen along with an accompanying delegation
next Sunday to take part in the fifth round of the Yemeni-Turkish
Committee meeting.
The weekly September 26 said the three-day meeting would be
co-chaired by minister of Industry and Trade Yahya al-Mutawakil and
Turkey's deputy premier Nazim Ekren.
The meeting will discuss 11 bilateral documents on cooperation in
various fields including five agreements and protocols that have
been agreed previously.
The six others would be deliberated during the preparatory meetings
to take place in the capital, Sana'a and will include documents on
cooperation in areas such as customs, higher and technical
education, justice and collaborating between the Yemeni and Turkish
universities.
Al-Mutawakil said a number of agreements signed by the two countries
previously would be activated including a proposal put forward by
the Yemeni Federation of Commerce and Industry Chambers to establish
a joint council for both countries businessmen.
On the second day of the Turkish delegation's visit, a symposium
would be held at the Sana'a chamber of commerce and industry to
consider the possibilities of setting up joint projects in the
fields of energy and electricity, oil, public works, infrastructure
and free trade zones.
Investment opportunities in Yemen and facilitation provided by the
Yemeni investment laws would be discussed during the symposium which
will also involve pair meetings among the two countries
participating businessmen.
