INDEPENDENT PRESS CENTER UNDER AZERBAIJAN CEC OPENED

Baku, 09 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)- Independent Press Center (IPC) under the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CEC) was inaugurated in Baku on Thursday.

Opening the ceremony on the occasion, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov said that IPC
which was founded in 2000 had been operating in all elections in the country.
M.Panahov notified the purpose of the Center is to provide local and foreign mass
media representatives with information on the forthcoming presidential election.
M. Panahov also added journalists would have opportunities to use computers, phone
and fax, as well as free internet services in the Center.
Meetings with media representatives and press-conferences will also be held in IPC,
underlined CEC Chairman.
According M. Panahov, IPC had been equipped with modern equipment and emergency
phone numbers.
He also stressed the Center would be open to mass media throughout the day.
