EARTHQUAKE HITS BITUNG, NORTH SULAWESI, ON FRIDAY
Jakarta, Oct. 10 (ANTARA) - An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale hit Bitung waters, North Sulawesi, on Friday, at 6.27 am Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
The tremor's epicenter was located at 1.49 degrees northern latitude and 125.99 degrees eastern longitude, at a depth of 23 km below sea level, around 88 km northeast of Bitung and 127 km northeast of Manado.
The earthquake was not potential to trigger a tsunami.
