Gas supply via Altiagac-Agsu pipeline to be resumed in near future

Azerbaijan, Baku, April 14 / Trend, A.Akhundov / Gas supply via Altiagac-Agsu main gas pipeline in Shamakhi region of Azerbaijan will be resumed in the near future, Azerigas Production Association of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told Trend on Saturday. "Gas leak occurred on Altiagac-Agsu gas pipeline at 22:50 on Friday, after which the fire took place. A result of the taken measures, gas transportation via the pipeline was stopped, the fire was extinguished," Azerigas said. As a result of the explosion gas supply to the Altiagac settlement of Khizi region was suspended. "Altiagac settlement will be left without gas until completion of already started emergency and recovery operations. There is no problem in gas supply to other settlements. Now gas is transported via alternate pipeline," Azerigaz said. The specialists, who arrived on the scene, are clarifying the causes. Shamakhi region is located in about 135 km from Baku.
