Iran says gas enrichment at South Pars field increased

Azerbaijan, Baku, April 6 /Trend S.Isayev, T. Jafarov/
Gas enrichment at the South Pars gas field has been increased, General director of the "PARS" oil and gas company Musa Souri said, Mehr reported.
Souri also noted that the drilling of 24 wells on the 9th and 10th phases has been completed, adding that there is a possibility of enriching 6,5 million cubic meters of gas through the wells.
The South Pars gas field is shared by Iran and Qatar. The Iranian share, which is divided into 29 phases, has about 14 trillion cubic meters of gas, or about eight percent of the total world reserves, and more than 18 billion barrels of liquefied natural gas resources.
Currently, Iran produces more than 290 million of cubic meters of gas, and according to Souri the increased enrichment of gas at South Pars field will help Iran to move closer to Qatar in terms of gas enrichment.
