"Daily Times" newspaper publishes article devoted to the activity of Azerbaijan's First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva

Azerbaijan, Baku, April 2 /Trend/ Influential "Daily Times" newspaper, which has millions of readers in the UK, the UAE and Pakistan, has published an article by editor-in-chief of the Islamabad bureau of the newspaper Dure Najaf, entitled "Eurovision 2012: In expectation of a great holiday". The article which opens up with words of the First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO Mehriban Aliyeva "Leaving the Land of Fire, many of them will take piece of this fire in their soul" tells about history of Eurovision, tells that this contest is the Europe's most favorite TV show, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Pakistan told Trend. Noting that the Azerbaijani duet after the fourth participation of Azerbaijan won the contest held in Dusseldorf in 2011, Dure Najaf described the victory in this contest as an incredible event. The author also stresses that the Azerbaijani government established the Organizing Committee of "Eurovision Song Contest 2012" under the supervision of the First Lady of Azerbaijan, the President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO Mehriban Aliyeva. In the article the author says that a charming lady and a bright personality, Aliyeva captured the hearts of people with her charity. The footprints of the Foundation are to be found in all the spheres of life in Azerbaijan - science, education, sports, environment, religion and culture, the article says. The article notes that newly constructed schools, Thalassemia Centre, clinics, musical lyceums, mosques, renovated shrines and religious monuments, concert halls as well as promotion of Azerbaijan's and world's cultural heritage, are being built in Azerbaijan on the initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Dure Najaf notes that a school in Muzaffarabad which was built in place of the one destroyed by 2005 devastating earthquake is not only a part of "Support to Education" project of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, but a manifestation of the brotherhood between Pakistan and Azerbaijan as well. Informing readers in details about the place where Eurovision 2012 will be held, the author notes that Baku Crystal Hall was included in the list of sports arenas as part of Azerbaijan's appeal to host the Olympics in 2020. The Hall is located on the shore of the Caspian Sea, near the State Flag Square, where a magnificent view of the city opens up. This complex will become the largest sports and concert arena of the South Caucasus. Its architecture is a "bridge" between East and West. The walls of the building will be covered with crystals on the walls of this building and the play of light on it will create quite amazing visual effects, the article notes. The article's author says that a press centre for journalists, who intend to cover the contest, will be located next to the hall.
