Qatar Career Fair to Be Launched on Sunday Under Gracious Patronage of HH the Heir Apparent
Doha, March 29 (QNA) - Under the gracious patronage of HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani , Qatar Career Fair (QCF) 2012 will start on Sunday morning, April 01 at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) and continues for five days.
Qatar career fair is co- organized by Qatar Foundation For Education, Science And Community Development (QF) , Qatar Petroleum (QP) , the Emiri Diwan , Qatar University and the Ministry of Labour.
Addressing a press conference held here on Thursday on the occasion, QCF's director Abdullah Al-Mansoori said, the opening ceremony of the QCF which being held for the first time , will start on sunday at 10 am under the slogan ,'' write the next chapter in qatar's success'' with the participation of 131 governmental agencies and private sector institutions.
The exhibitors are classified into five categories (Diamond, Pearl, Gold, Silver and Bronze) according to four villages which are Government (30), Energy and Industry (40), Business and Finance (34), Education, Health and Sports (27), said al-mansoori.
The QCF's director further told reporters that the fair will be open to the public at 12 am till 09 pm . The fair will open its doors to the public on daily basis from 09 am to 09 pm whereas the morning time on Wednesday ,will be dedicated for women and will start at 09 am morning till 04 pm .
It is worthy to mention that Qatar Career Fair Provides opportunities for education, employment, training and development; it also provides counseling and career guidance.
Actually the Fair provides these opportunities through a huge pool of institutions, government, private and semi-governmental sectors and difference educational institutions. These agencies vary according to the programs and opportunities provided to the visitors, based on the objective behind their participation in the Fair and in line with their plans and programs.
On the other hand, the correlation between Qatar Career Fair and the Qatar National Vision 2030 launched by HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani that has been based on four development pillars: human development, social development, economic development and environmental development.
Qatar Career Fair's objectives and programs are intrinsically and directly related to human development through its different programs and activities to promote the career culture in order to provide national competent cadres, and indirectly with the social, economic and environmental development, through the annual gathering of these sectors, projects and decision makers with the Qatari society and youth.
In laying the foundations of a culture of career planning, we have provided a number of activities and events throughout the year preceding the Fair as well as specialized seminars and workshops during the Fair as follows:
The volunteer program to which we give special attention. The number of volunteers is 300 this year, where they get involved in the organization of the Fair, starting from the preparatory stages.
Photography Competition - Career photos; this year we have received approximately 14 participants who submitted 60 photos. a specialized committee will choose 3 winners; all the photos will be displayed in the Fair and the public will vote online on the other participants' photos during the fair.
Story competition: This is a career short story written by 8 participants and featuring real or fictional characters. A committee from Bloomsbury will evaluate these stories in order to honor the winners during the Fair.
The open day: held over three consecutive days at the student center in the Education City. The meeting aims to inform high school students about the opportunities provided by Qatar Career Fair, including educational guidance and counseling opportunities, as well as programs, workshops and lectures during the Fair period.
It is to noted that the Qatar Career Fair became a member of Qatar Foundation in 2008. (QNA)
