Doha, March 29 (QNA) - The International Committee for Public Relations - Gulf Chapter (IPRA-GC) will hold its first forum in Qatar under the name of ''The Doha Public Relations Forum - Relations'', on occasion of its participation in the Qatar Career Fair to be launched next Sunday at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). The forum, which is to be held under the auspices of HE Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohamed Bin Saleh Al Sadah, follows the slogan "Public Relations and Qatar's 2020 Vision". The Committee's Vice President Jassim Ibrahim Fakhroo explained that the IPRA-GC will participate in the career fair through two channels; firstly with its own stand at the fair and secondly by organizing a forum on its occasion. He added that a committee of prominent specialists in the public relations and media fields in Qatar has been formed to place the capstone, topics, and goals for the forum which will host all attendees interested in the field in Qatar and the Gulf region. Fakhroo indicated that the committee will present informational brochures, membership forms, and offers for students interested in programmes and training sessions at the fair. The IPRA-GC, a non-profit organization, was initially formed in 2003 at Dhahran city in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to address pubic relations management issues and develop the field. It has more than 350 members from GCC countries including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, and Oman. The chapter aims at advancing public relations excellence and developing its members' skills and expertise, broadening their experience in the international public relations arena and establishing stronger ties among public relations professionals throughout the region to activate the field's vital role in strategic planning and implementation. The IPRA-GC is a local chapter of the IPRA which has been founded in 1955 in London and has branches in 70 countries worldwide. (QNA)
