National strategy for local governance referred for approval

SANA'A, Oct .08 (Saba)- Headed by Prime Minister Ali Mujawar, the
Ministerial Committee for Boosting Decentralization referred
refereed on Wednesday the national strategy for transformation into
local governance to cabinet for approval.

The strategy seeks to transformation from local authority system
into local governance system with wider authorization for realizing
local development and deep rooting democracy, in addition to
realizing proportionality between financial resources and local
duties and jobs.

The strategy aims at enhancing infrastructure of local authority
system for enabling their units of professionally contribution in
realizing developmental aims and providing services to citizens.

The Prime Minister argued the technical committee to head all
remarks put on the strategy during the meeting and including them in
the strategy project before referring it to the cabinet.

He indicated necessity of taking into consideration stepping
doctrine while applying financial and administrative
decentralization, noting that the strategy comes in the framework of
carrying out the electoral program of the president.
