HH the Heir Apparent Patronizes DIMDEX 2012

Doha, March 26 (QNA) - HH the Heir Apparent and the Deputy Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani patronized on Monday morning the opening ceremony of the 3rd Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2012) at Qatar National Convention Centre. The ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers and HE Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces as well as a number of Their Excellencies the members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the State of Qatar and guests. The ceremony began with recitation of verses from the holy Quran, then a speech by HE Commander of the Qatar Emiri Naval Forces and Dimdex 2012 chairman Staff Brigadier (Sea) Mohammed bin Nasser al-Mohannadi. On this occasion he said Qatar's hosting of this exhibition in its third edition comes within a series of events taking place in the country, noting to Qatar's ambitious vision in the expansion of International Cooperation by hosting international forums and conferences. HE al-Mohannadi also noted to the wise policy of the Qatari Armed Forces represented by the Emiri Naval Forces to organize DIMDEX exhibition, saying it is the most comprehensive and only integrated Naval show in the Middle East and North Africa which brings together more than 150 specialized companies and over 70 official delegations representing nearly 50 countries from all over the world. The exhibition's activities will present the latest technologies in the field of maritime defense and will contribute as well to achieve the required and rapid development of marine industries through dialogue and consultation between the leading companies in the maritime defense industry, coastal security and naval defense systems together with key policy-makers and senior defense officials in the world, he said. Al-Mohannadi also noted that a Naval Leadership Conference will be held in the second day of the exhibition which will reflect a comprehensive view for the defense and maritime security industry in addition to its current and future challenges.
