Mottaki calls for boosting ties with Ecuador

Tehran, Oct 8, IRNA- Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Wednesday called for expansion of Iran-Ecuador ties.

In a meeting with Ecuadorian Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and
Integration Eduardo Egas, Mottaki said that the two countries are
determined to advance mutual relations.

He added that Tehran and Quito enjoy common aspirations and stands.

He said that the Ecuador president is a great character seeking for
justice and determined to promote ties with Iran.

Mottaki said that the two countries have potentials for cooperation in
education, culture, tourism, engineering and technical projects and
dam construction as well as manufacturing agricultural machinery, car
and refinery.

Egas said for his part that his country has political will to expand
ties with Iran.

He said that Ecuador is willing to boost relations with Iran in the
economic fields.

Referring to Iran's potentials, he said that the two countries can
cooperate in various areas including health, road construction,
development projects, mines, oil and energy.

"Ecuador is like a gate through which Iran and the Latin American
states can develop exchange, on one hand, and Iran is a Middle East
country can join Ecuador with the region, on the other."
