German entry for Eurovision wants to get to know Azerbaijan and ... go to beach

Azerbaijan, Baku, March 17 / Trend V.Imanov /
German entry for Eurovision 2012 Roman Lob is looking forward to meeting with artists from all over the world in Baku.
"It's a great feeling and I'm really excited. The contest means a lot to me. All this is really thrilling," Lob said in an interview with Trend.
The 57th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Baku Crystal Hall, which is under construction near the area of the State Flag. The Eurovision 2012 semi-final rounds will be held in Baku on May 22 and May 24 and the final on May 26.
He said he made lots of new experiences after participation in German TV show "Unser Star für Baku" looking for this year's German contestant at Eurovision.
Speaking on the song he will perform in Baku, Lob admitted Standing Still was his favourite from the first second
"It was written by Jamie Cullum. The song is about a couple who unfortunately split up. The guy has to come to terms with the fact that the woman has left him," he said.
Lob said he is looking forward to getting to know other cultures and meeting new people during the Contest in Baku.
The singer said his stage performance is still at a very early planning stage but probably a fairly straightforward show.
Lob said his favorite Eurovision song of all times is Lena's Satellite.
He also would love to get to know Azerbaijan and its people, and of course to go to the beach.
"The Eurovision Song Contest will definitely be a great experience," he said.
German entry to Eurovision was chosen on February 17. The jury of the national selection called the name of Lob. It is interesting that music is not his main profession.
Roman comes from the city of Neustadt (federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate). He was born on July 2, 1990. His main profession is mechanic. At Eurovision 2012 Lob will perform the song Standing Still, which was also chosen by viewers.
