Iran President inaugurates housing complex

Azerbaijan, Baku, March 16/ Trend M. Moezzi During a visit to Iran's Khuzestan Province today, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad attended the inauguration of more than 10,000 apartments which are part of the Iranian government's Mehr Housing Project, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported. The president will also attend the opening of a 50,000 seat stadium, a bridge and several construction projects. The government's Mehr Housing Project gives free land to developers to build cheap housing for the public. Residents pay 20 per cent of their apartment's construction costs and sign a 99-year lease.
