Qatar Petroleum Sponsors 20th Public Relations World Congress in Dubai
Doha, March 14 (QNA) - Qatar Petroleum (QP) is the gold sponsor of the 20th Public Relations World Congress (PRWC), which is currently ongoing until Thursday in Dubai.
The 20th PRWC is a biennial event organized by the International Public Relations Association-Gulf Chapter (IPRA-GC). The three-day event, which began today, brings together over 500 public relations experts and communications professionals from all over world for an in-depth discussion of the latest trends and the prevailing challenges in the industry.
QP's sponsorship of the 20th PWRC is under the directives of HE Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman and Managing Director of QP, and it reflects the corporation's thrust to always keep up-to-date with effective strategies in communicating its extensive operations in the oil and gas industry.
"Our strong support to the 20th Public Relations World Congress clearly demonstrates our commitment to the continued growth of the regional and global PR industry as well as to the full development of young communications professionals who will eventually set the future directions of the industry," said Sultan Abdulla Ali Al-Abdulla, Public Relations and Communications Manager of QP.
Al-Abdulla is attending the congress together with other senior QP officials, and he will be one of the panelists on March 15 during a session entitled "Public Relations in the Middle East: An Emerging Opportunity." Al-Abdulla will be giving his views on the key challenges that the regional industry faced over the last decade, the major opportunities in the industry, and the impact of the Arab Spring on the public relations sector.
As part of its participation in the 20th PWRC, QP is sponsoring five Qatari students who are attending the event to learn from the experience of experts and to listen to their insights on the evolving trends in public relations and communications. On the first day of the event, the students had the opportunity to attend one of the two workshops, which focused on "Making a PR Campaign Happen" and "Developing a Digital Strategy." (QNA)
