Kazakhstan has good chance of holding EXPO-2017

Kazakhstan, Astana, March 12 / Trend D. Mukhtarov / Kazakhstan has a high chance of being awarded the EXPO - 2017 exhibition, secretary general of the International Exhibitions Bureau Gonzalez Loscertales believes. "Kazakhstan has a good chance of victory in the decision to hold the exhibition EXPO - 2017. Over 20 years of independence the country has been able to prove itself as a peace loving nation that is already well known in the world," Loscertales told journalists in Astana on Monday. It should be recalled that the second candidate to host the exhibition EXPO - 2017 is Belgium. Loscertales said that an expert commission which will be in Astana this week "will be considering the viability of holding the exhibition in the Kazakh capital." "The final decision will be made by the General Assembly of the International Exhibitions Bureau in November 2012. During the coming period we will study the possibilities and conditions of this exhibition," Loscertales said. The decision will be taken based on the report of the expert commission which visits country only once to study its capabilities and infrastructure, he said.
