Al Kharaitiyat, Al Wakra Draw in QSL Football

Doha, March 10 (QNA) - Al Kharaitiyat club on Saturday dented Al Wakra's surge with a goalless draw in round 18 of the Qatar Stars League (QSL). Al Kharaitiyat, who are in 11th spot in the 12-team QSL points table, defended astutely to grab a point against Al Wakra who had welcomed back striker Younus Mahmood. Coached by Laurent Banide, Al Kharaitiyat were playing their first official match since losing the Qatar Stars Cup final to the same side a little over a week ago. Al Wakra, coached by Adnan Derjal, are in the fifth spot with 24 points from 18 matches. Nashat Akram missed a penalty in the 88th minute in what was Al Wakra's best chance to score in the match played at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium. Lekhwiya, Al Sadd, Al Rayyan and Al Jaish are ahead of Al Wakra in the QSL title race. (QNA)
