Annan opposes military solution to Syrian crisis

The Arab League-United Nations envoy to Syria, Kofi Annan, said Thursday he is opposed to a military solution and prefers a diplomatic way out of the Syrian crisis, dpa reported. The former UN chief added that his mission to Syria aims to end the violence there, allow in humanitarian aid and work towards a political solution. Annan was speaking after talks in Cairo with Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi.
