4TH ISLAMIC CONFERENCE OF MINISTERS OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ADOPTS REPORT OF ISESCO DIRECTOR GENERAL ON IMPLEMENTATION OF SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMMES

Baku, 07 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)The 4th Islamic Conference of the Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research today has adopted the report of the Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Dr.
Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, on ISESCO’s efforts in the field of higher education, scientific research and technology.

The Conference also adopted the report of the Fourth Meeting of the Consultative
Council for the Implementation of the Strategy for Science, Technology and
Innovation in Islamic Countries which was held in last July at ISESCO’s
headquarters.
The conference urged the member states to renew their commitments to achieve
scientific and technological development, to accord it a top priority in national
development plans and to contribute at least 1% of their GDP to the promotion of
science and technology. Besides, the Conference recommended the Member States to
take practical steps to ensure a speedy transformation of their economies into
knowledge-based ones.
The 4th Islamic Conference of Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research
called upon the Member States to strengthen their mutual cooperation to implement
the ten-year programme of action of the Organization of the Islamic Conference.
