Baku, 07 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)“Preparation for presidential election in Azerbaijan is going on well well, in accordance with requirements of the law.
The country is ready
for free, transparent and democratic election. It is another evidence of Azerbaijani
Government’s intention to conduct free, transparent and democratic election,” Mr.
Eugenie Sloboda, Head of the CIS Observer Mission Baku headquarters was quoted by
AzerTAg agency as saying at a press conference on October 6.
Mr. Sloboda has emphasized the CIS Mission of Observers has been completely formed
and some 400 international observers are due to give their assessment on forthcoming
election. 23 long-term observers have not registered any serious flaws after
attending 67 polling stations of 28 constituencies. The Mission says the country has
every condition for free, transparent and democratic polls.
Mr. Sloboda said short-term CIS Mission of Observers is to arrive in Azerbaijan 2-3
days before the start of voting and the regional offices will open also in
Nakhchivan, Lankaran, Ganja and Khachmaz.
On October 15, observers will come to Baku and other cities of Azerbaijan to monitor
and evaluate the vote count process. The final report will be released on October
16.
Mr. Sloboda also mentioned that no claim has been raised by any of presidential
candidates. All presidential candidates were provided free television and radio
time. This fact was positively estimated by the Mission.
At the end of the conference, Mr. Sloboda answered to the questions of the press.
