President: Improving defence capability - one of priorities of Kazakh state policy

Azerbaijan, Baku, March 6 / Trend E.Kosolapova / The issue of improving security, national defense and law enforcement is one of priorities of state policy of Kazakhstan, President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at a meeting of Security Сounсil on Tuesday. Nazarbayev said at present the authorities of Kazakhstan pay special attention to these issues. "Over the past few years volume of state defence order has significantly increased, which created the necessary conditions for development and improvement of material-technical base of law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan", said Nazarbayev. He also noted that the technical equipment of the law enforcement state bodies should be adequate to the conditions of modern challenges and threats. In this regard effective use of budget funds allocated for the implementation of state defense orders is necessary to ensure an optimal balance between the needs and economic possibilities of the country. Nazarbayev also emphasized the importance of increasing the share of Kazakh maintenance in the defence order, as it provides new jobs for its citizens, the growth of tax base and, in general industrial and innovative development of Kazakhstan. Following the meeting, the President gave relevant instructions to the government and other state agencies concerned.
