Advisory Council Speaker Returns to Doha

Doha, March 06 (QNA) - HE Speaker of the Advisory (Shura) Council Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Kholaifi and his accompanying delegation returned to Doha this evening from Kuwait after participating in the activities of the ninth round of the Executive Committee and the Eighteenth Conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union , both held during the period from 4 to 6 March. The conference addressed a number of issues, including the election of officers of the Conference (President, Vice President, Secretary) and the chairman's report on his activities and the activity of the Executive Committee since the seventeenth conference. The Conference also discussed the report of the Secretary-General on the situation of the Union and its activities since the seventeenth Conference and the interventions of Heads of parliaments and heads of delegations on the current Arab situation and popular movement. The Conference also discussed unemployment in the Arab world focusing on the role of parliamentarians in enact legislations to create job opportunities that contribute to reducing unemployment, international and regional activity of the Union and the meetings of the Standing Committees of the Union. as well as the Chair transition The final financial account for 2011, and the budget of the Union for 2012 were also discussed .
