Qatar Energy Minister Dismisses QP's Plan to Raise Domestic Gas Prices

Doha, March 06 (QNA) - HE Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada denies reports that QP is looking at raising domestic gas prices . In response to a question by Qatar News Agency (QNA) about the possibility of raising domestic gas prices, Dr. Al Sada said that QP is committed to the current selling prices, stressing that all domestic sales are under long-term contracts. Qatar Petroleum is firmly committed to the contracts concluded with local companies, both those working in the field of energy or petrochemicals or any other field, he said. Last February, media reports said that Qatar Petroleum is looking to raise domestic gas prices, citing an official source at the company who stated that feedstock gas prices in Qatar is below prices on the international market, but still it would remain within a range which could be seen as a subsidy.
