75 percent of Iran's parliament formed

Azerbaijan, Baku, March 6 / Trend S.Isayev, T. Jafarov/ Iran's parliament has been formed, for the most part, country's Interior Minister Mustafa Mohammad-Najjar said, IRINN Tv channel reported. According to Mohammad-Najjar, 225 of 290 total members of parliament have already been selected. He added that the remaining 65 members will be selected among 130 remaining candidates in the second round of elections. The second round will take place in April, in 33 of 207 main electorates across Iran. The exact date will be made public later. The 9th parliamentary elections in Iran began on March 2. The elections to Iran's Majlis (parliament) are held every four years. The parliamentary elections of the VIII convocation were held on March 14, 2008. Ali Larijani is the chairman of Majlis. The first meeting of the Iranian parliament is planned to be held on the seventh date of Khordad month 1391 in Islamic calendar (May 27, 2012). MPs take an oath before the first meeting of the Parliament. Muslim MPs take an oath on the Koran, the representatives of national minorities take an oath on their holy book.
