NAVY CHIEF OF STAFF PROMOTED TO FLEET ADMIRAL
Jakarta, Oct 6 (ANTARA) - Military (TNI) Chief General Djoko Santoso approved the promotion of Naval Chief of Staff Vice Admiral Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno to Fleet Admiral at TNI headquarters here Monday.
The TNI chief said the promotion was a form of appreciation from the nation and the TNI for person who had been promoted for his dedication, achievements and services.
Santoso also mentioned that TNI would be facing more difficult tasks, including guarding Indonesia's territorial waters against external threats.
"National security covers uninhabited small outer islands against claims from other countries, piracy, poaching, human trafficking and smuggling,," he said.
