Minister: Turkey is in oil import negotiations with Saudi Arabia and Libya

Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb.29 / Trend A.Taghiyeva / Turkey intends to diversify oil supplies to the country and in this regard is in negotiations with Saudi Arabia and Libya, Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz said in an interview with CNBC TV channel on Wednesday. He said the results of the negotiations will be known by late 2012. "Turkey is worried about higher prices for crude and energy resources. Therefore, we intend to increase the number of oil exporting countries," Yildiz said. Oil import into Turkey decreased by 20.8 percent in December 2011 compared to the previous month and amounted to 1.1 million tons, a report of the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority) says.
