ISESCO commemorates memory of Khojaly genocide's victims

Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 26 / Trend /
A meeting to mark the 20th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held in the headquarters of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) in Rabat, Morocco.
Morocco-Azerbaijan Friendship Society and the embassies of Azerbaijan and Turkey in Rabat attended the meeting.
Director General of ISESCO Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri noted in his address serious implications for the entire human race of the enormities of the Armenian forces in Nagorno-Karabakh and their continued violation of the UN Security Council's resolutions calling for the withdrawal of Armenian occupying forces from Azeri territories.
The Armenian military forces committed genocide in Khojaly on Feb. 26, 1992. Some 613 people were killed, including 63 children, 106 women and 70 old men. A total of 1,000 civilians were disabled during the genocide. Eight families were annihilated, 130 children lost one parent, and 25 lost both. Additionally, 1,275 peaceful residents were taken hostage, while the fate of 150 remains unknown.
