March on 20th anniversary of Khojaly genocide completes in Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb.26 / Trend E.Mehdiyev / A march on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide has completed in Baku. Participants of the procession that began at ​​Azadliq square, arrived to "Ana feryadi" ("Cry of the mother") monument, and commemorated the victims of genocide. According to the Trend correspondences, who were present at the event, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, government officials and a large number of citizens of the country were participating at the event. Participants of the procession had "Do not forget the Khojaly genocide", "Justice for Khojaly" slogans in their hands. Armenian military forces committed genocide in Khojaly on Feb. 26, 1992. Some 613 people were killed, including 63 children, 106 women and 70 old men. A total of 1,000 civilians were disabled during the genocide. Eight families were annihilated, 130 children lost one parent, and 25 lost both. Additionally, 1,275 peaceful residents were taken hostage, while the fate of 150 remains unknown.
