Turkmenistan approves socio-economic development program for 2012-2016

Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Feb. 25 / Trend H. Hasanov / Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved the socio-economic development program for 2012-2016, local media reported on Saturday. The main directions of the country's socio-economic development country for the coming years include large investments to develop healthy and highly intelligent human capital, "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper said. The large-scale work will continue to transform the regions including the construction of new modern settlements with an appropriate infrastructure. It is planned to implement a set of measures aimed at steady dynamic development of the national economy. Along with the modernization of material-technical base of all sectors of the economy, it is planned to construct new facilities of the fuel and energy sector, chemical industry, textile industry, agriculture, transport and communication sector. "The development of the non-state sector of the economy by supporting for domestic manufacturer of all forms of property is the most important aspect of the Turkmen economic strategy at the present stage," Turkmen Dovlet Khabarlary state news service said. It is planned to construct hundreds of small and medium-sized enterprises in various fields for the next five years.
