RI`S NON-OIL EXPORTS TO 12 MAIN DESTINATIONS DOWN 4.7 PCT
Jakarta, Oct 6 (ANTARA) - The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) said Indonesia's non-oil exports to 12 main destination countries in August dropped 4.71 percent from the figure in July.
"Indonesia's non-oil exports in August 2008 totaled US$9.56 billion, down 1.2 percent from July 2008," BPS Deputy Chief Ali Rosidi said here on Monday.
In August, Indonesia's non-oil exports to Singapore dropped by US$175.6 million or 15.5 percent, Japan US$171.8 million or 11.8 percent, Taiwan US$79.3 million or 25 percent, Australia US$40.7 milion or 15.4 percent, Thailand US$34.0 million or 10 percent, the United States US32.8 million or 2.9 percent, Britain US$10.4 million, or 7.3 percent and France US$0.5 million or 0.7 percent.
But exports to other countries increased such as to China which increased by US$116 million or 21.4 percent, South Korea US$105.2 million or 28.6 percent, Malaysia US$14.6 million or 3 percent and Germany US$4.6 million or 2 percent.
In terms of value, Japan, the United States and Singapore remained the destinations of Indonesia's non-oil exports in August, 2008, he said. The value of Indonesia's exports to those countries respectively worth 1.3 billion dollars, 1.1 million dollars and 957.2 million dollars.
Indonesia's non oil exports in January - August 2008 totaled US$73.54 billion or an increase of 22.38 percent compared with that in 2007.
