FINANCE MINISTER TO ATTEND MIDEAST INVESTORS` MEETING IN DUBAI
Jakarta, Oct 6 (ANTARA) - Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Idrawati will attend a Middle East investors' meeting in Dubai in the near future, Finance Ministry's Fiscal Policy Board (BKF) chief Anggito Abimanyu said here on Monday.
"Besides attending an Asian Finance Ministers' Meeting in Dubai, the minister will also attend a Middle East investors' meeting," Anggito Abimanyu said.
He said the meeting would be attended by at least 150 investors, especially from Abudhabi.
"We are studying all possibilities and various efforts to meet our financing needs we have to pay through direct investments as well as securities," he said.
He said the government's plan to issue a global sukuks (shariah-style bonds) at the end of October this year was one of the ways to attract funds from the Middle East.
Anggito said Indonesia was open to investors from the Middle East prepared to make direct investments in the country.
"Middle East investors are welcome. With investors from Qatar we are exploring the possibility of setting up a joint investment company," he said, adding that the joint investment company has already attracted the interest of many investors such as the Saudi Bank, Dubai Investment Bank, Qatar Investment Bank and others.
"Hopefully we can convince them to invest in Indonesia," Anggito added.
