Danish representative at Eurovision looking forward to meeting Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 20 / Trend A.Mamedova /
Danish representative at the Eurovision 2012 Song Contest Soluna Samay has shared in an interview with Trend her dream to see Baku and congratulated Eldar Gasymov and Nigar Jamal (Ell & Nikki) for bringing Eurovision to Azerbaijan.
"I have never been to Azerbaijan, so I really look forward to experiencing a new culture and a beautiful city like Baku! Unfortunately, I have never been to Baku. I have seen pictures and it looks beautiful, it's a great location by the Caspian Sea. I have also heard that it is a very cultural city. I really look forward to visiting it!," she said.
Ms Samay believes participating in the Eurovision Song Contest will be a great experience and she hopes the contest will be the platform that will help her spread her music all over Europe.
"It will definitely be an advantage for my music career because millions of people will have seen me on TV. So hopefully it will be easier to share my music with the whole world," the singer said.
Speaking on upcoming performance at the Eurovision Ms Samay said her show is all about the song.
"We will try to create a very intimate performance. It will probably be a little different from the usual Eurovision performances," she noted.
She said she will have several musicians on stage with her.
"I think a good song in Eurovision has to somehow be different from the other songs. And of course it has to have a catchy melody. My song is a solid pop song with a modern sound, but it also has profound lyrics that anyone can relate to. It has a strong message and I hope it will touch peoples' hearts," she said.
Ms Samay said it's an honor for her that Denmark chose her to represent their country.
"The most difficult thing is the mental preparation for the contest. I think it's important to get ready for such a big event mentally so that the nervousness doesn't become overpowering. And I think it's important to be able to go with the flow, because lot's of unexpected things can happen and it's important to be able to handle that," Ms Samay said promising to make it all unforgettable and fun.
"In case of unsuccessful performance I will try not to let it get to me. Anything can happen in a competition like Eurovision. I will just do my best and even if it is not enough, life will go on and hopefully my music will also live beyond Eurovision," she said.
The 57th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Baku Crystal Hall, which is under construction near the area of the State Flag.
The Baku Crystal Hall is the arena with a capacity of up to 23,000 spectators. Approximately 16,000 people will be able to attend each of the three Eurovision Song Contest live shows in May.
The Eurovision 2012 semi-final rounds will be held in Baku on May 22-24, and the finals on May 26.
