KERINCI TO HAVE MORE MINI HYDRO POWER PLANTS
Jambi, Indonesia, Oct 05 (ANTARA) - The Kerinci Regency Administration in Jambi province planned to build more micro-hydro power plants.
"We would continue building more mini-hydro power plants to meet the local needs' of electricity," Kerinci regent Fauzi Siin said here Sunday.
At least more mini-hydro power plants could be built, even though the bigger ones are also built with a cpacity of 160 mewawatts (MW).
Kerinci regency is located in Jambi's highlands and has ample water sources in 1.3 million hectares Seblat Kerinci National Park (TNKS), but has not been used optimally.
Meanwhile the builder of the small power plants is PT Bukaka Teknin Utama (BTU).
"The mini hydro generators is a bonus for the population of Kerinci," said hydro-power director of PT BTU, Heri Husaini here recently.
