UN proposes international center on fighting corruption in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Shamakhi, Feb.15 / Trend A.Akhundov / The UN proposes creating an international center to fight corruption in Azerbaijan, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Fikret Akcura said at a conference on "Fighting Corruption in Azerbaijan" in Shamakhi today. "It would be reasonable to create an international center in Azerbaijan in this sphere, to which leading experts will be involved," Akcura said. He said the UN is ready to participate and provide the necessary support. According to Tax Minister Fazil Mammadov, Azerbaijan actively cooperates with international organizations and is ready to participate. An International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) delegation established by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the Austrian government, the European Anti-Fraud Office and other interested parties is also attending the conference in Baku.
