Yemen to host regional symposium on political role of tribe

SANA'A, Oct 05 (Saba) - Yemen will host next Monday a regional
symposium on the political role of tribe and clan.

The symposium would be organized by the Yemeni Observatory for
Human Rights YOHR in collaboration with the Canadian International
Development Research Centre (IDRC), the Jordanian Strategic Studies
CSS and the Iraq-based Gulf Research Center GRC.

According to a press statement specialized researchers and
interested figures in the relationship between Yemen and the world
would take part in the event.

Executive manager of the YOHR Muhammad al-Maqtari said the symposium
will discuss the political role of tribe and clan and their
relationship with the government, the civil society and political
powers as well as their impacts on democracy and election running.

The symposium will also highlight the strength of tribe and clan
structure and their involvement in civilian culture in the
organizing countries.
