Court starts trial of Iranian and Pakistani sailors
SANA'A, Oct 05 (Saba) - The Specialized Penal Court started on
Sunday the trial of eleven Iranian and a Pakistani sailors arrested
over drugs trafficking charges.
At the session chaired by judge Radhwan al-Namir with the
attendance of prosecution representative Abdullah al-Sharqi the
court ordered to bring a translator for the sailors for the next
session scheduled for October 19.
The sailors face charges in relation to bringing 560 thousand
kilograms of hashish into the Yemeni territorial waters.
In late February, eleven Iranian sailors were arrested on charges
related to illegally entering the Yemeni territorial waters and
possessing drugs quantities.
