Georgia, Afghanistan to establish inter-governmental commission

Georgia, Tbilisi, Feb.13/ Trend N.Kirtskhalia / Georgia and Afghanistan have agreed to establish an intergovernmental commission for the development of bilateral cooperation. The agreement was reached at a meeting of Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze and his Afghan counterpart Zalmai Rassoul in Kabul. As Mr Vashadze told Georgian journalists in Kabul, several directions for future cooperation were defined at the meeting with his Afghan counterpart. "Afghanistan needs our help in creating infrastructure, in the construction area and in establishing anti-corruption legislation and efficient law enforcement agencies," Mr Vashadze said. He said during the visit he also met with the commander of International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan John Allen, with whom he discussed Georgia's participation in ISAF operations.
