Sanctions have created opportunities for Iran: oil minister

Tehran, Oct 5, IRNA - Iran's Oil Minister Gholam-Hossein Nozari said on Sunday that economic sanctions imposed on Iran have created opportunities for the Islamic Republic.

He made the remarks while talking to reporters on the sidelines of the 2nd Iran's Gas Export Conference in Tehran.

"Iran's gas output has increased 70 million cubic meter a day by
making use of domestic facilities, thanks to the economic sanctions
imposed on the Islamic Republic," the minister reiterated.

The country's natural gas production is currently 530 million cubic
meter a day.

On putting into operation of the sixth, seventh, and eighth phases of
the South Pars oil field, the minister added that the sixth phase has
been completed and its gas has entered the refinery.

He said the next two phases will be completed soon.

The two-day Iran's Gas Export Conference opened in Tehran on Saturday.
