Yemen welcomes US court`s verdict setting al-Muya`ad innocent

SANA'A, Oct. 04 (Saba)- Yemen has welcomed a US appeal court's
decision dropping terror support charges against Sheikh Mohammad
al-Muya'ad and his companion Mohammad Zayed and setting them free.

" The verdict confirms what Yemen has adopt since the beginning that
measures of arresting them were not according to international law
legislations and measures," said Yemeni Foreign Minister Abu Bakr
al-Qirbi.

Al-Qirbi who expressed hope of quick release of Sheikh al-Muya'ad
and his companion Zayed, affirmed that Yemen would continue efforts
for releasing them as soon as possible.


Between 2003 and 2005 the court found Sheikh Muhammad al-Muya'ad and
Zayed guilty of financing terrorism and sentenced them to
75 and 45 years in prison respectively. The court also fined each $
2 million.

Muhammad al-Muya'ad and his companion Zayed were arrested in
Germany in 2002 and were extradited to the US.
