AZERI SPEAKER MEETS HEAD OF OSCE ELECTION MISSION
Baku, 04 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)Chairman of the Milli Majlis, Azerbaijan Parliament, Ogtay Asadov met Saturday with head of the election observation mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Boris Frlec.
Asadov said Azerbaijan is successfully moving on the path towards building
democratic state. He noted substantial work has been done to bring Azerbaijan`s
legislative system to world standards.
The Azeri Speaker also touched upon what the government has been doing to ensure
“holding of democratic, transparent and fair presidential elections.”
Boris Frlec said during his trip he had held fruitful meetings with Azerbaijan`s
President and the country`s other presidential candidates, as well as officials at
the Central Election Commission.
Frlec praised Azerbaijan`s making amendments to its Electoral Code and law on the
freedom of assembly.
