SOCAR builds new facility in the Caspian

Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb 10 / Trend E. Ismaylov / Until the end of this year, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to complete the construction of a new offshore platform in the shallow part of the "Guneshli" field, SOCAR said on Friday. The SOCAR plant of deepwater foundations builds the block of the platform №7. The main contractor for the construction of the new platform "Neftegazstroy" trust. The six modules of the platform are built on the deepwater foundations plant, and two on the building-assembly platform is "Neftegazstroy" trust, SOCAR said. The platform is designed to drill four oil and eight gas wells and will be installed at the depth of 140-150 meters. A drilling rig designed in China, a helipad, a modern apartment block, home block, a modern fire station, control and management system, biological cleaning installment and other necessary equipment will be installed on the platform. Also, the platform will be equipped with two ship cranes, rescue boat of tanker type for 42 persons and a number of life rafts 10 persons each.
