Azerbaijani gas supply to Turkey to be fully resumed today

Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb.9 / Trend A.Taghiyeva /
All technical failures on the Shah Deniz platform are eliminated and tonight Azerbaijani gas will reach Turkish border, Anadolu agency quotes SOCAR Turkey Enerji managing director Kenan Yavuz as saying on Thursday.
On Feb.7, Azerbaijan suspended gas supply to Georgia and Turkey via the South Caucasus gas pipeline due to technical problems on a platform on the Shah Deniz field.
As BP Azerbaijan, technical operator of the field development, told Trend earlier, during the planned maintenance work in the power system of Shah Deniz platform an automatic shutdown system of the platform went off, as a result all the processes were suspended on it.
Reserves of Shah Deniz field are estimated at 1.2 trillion cubic meters of gas.
The contract to develop the offshore Shah Deniz field was signed June 4, 1996. Participants to the agreement are: BP (operator) - 25.5 percent, Statoil - 25.5 percent, NICO - 10 percent, Total - 10 percent, LukAgip - 10 percent, TPAO - 9 percent, SOCAR-10 percent.
