Russia, as a WTO member, must fulfil obligations with Georgia

Georgia, Tbilisi, Feb.7 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia/
Russia, as a member of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) will have to fulfil certain obligations in relations with Georgia, spokesman of President of Georgia Manana Manjgaladze said at a traditional briefing on Tuesday.
The President of Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev has announced the country's readiness to restore trade and economic relations with Georgia.
"Once Russia has become the new WTO member with the consent of Georgia, it would have to fulfil its international commitments at some stage as part of its WTO membership," Mr Manjgaladze said.
The Ministers of WTO member countries approved the accession of the Russian Federation to the organisation in December 2011. It became possible after reaching a compromise agreement with Georgia on the issue of control over the movement of goods in the Abkhaz and South Ossetian sections of the Georgian-Russian border using Swiss mediation.
