INDONESIA, CHINA TO EXCHANGE EXPERIENCE ON GOOD GOVERNANCE

Beijing, Oct 5 (ANTARA) - The governments of Indonesia and China will exchange experience on efforts to create a clean government both countries have made so far, Indonesian Ambassador to China Sudrajat said.

"The two countries will hold talks and exchange experience on their common efforts to create good governance," the ambassador said here on Sunday.

Minister for Administrative Reforms Taufiq Effendi will be visiting Beijing, China, on October 14-15, 2008 to discuss matters relating to good governance with a number of Chinese high officials, Sudradjat said.

He said that both countries were preparing the agenda of their talks during the Indonesian minister's visit in China in the middle of this month.

"Efforts to eradicate corruption will also likely become an item of their meeting agenda. But for sure, good governance will be the main topic of their discussion," the ambassador said.

The ambassador could not yet reveal the officials who would meet with the Indonesian minister because the agenda of their talks were still under arrangement.

On May 23, 2007, the governments of Indonesia and China signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on corruption eradication in the both countries.

The cooperation was carried out in an effort to expand networks with other countries in fighting corruption.
